Alexia Muiños Ruiz is a filmmaker, actress and teacher. She graduated as a director and screenwriter from the CECC school in Barcelona and completed her training in New York. In 2015 she founded her production company Marineda Films. Her films Noche Transfigurada, Asuntos Domésticos, Medianoche, Domingo por la mañana and En RE DO have received international awards. She has worked in multiple positions in the audio-visual industry: as a runner, as actors coach as well as director and producer. She combines her work as an independent director with acting, teaching and feminist activism within the European Women's Audio-visual Network and Dones Visuals, of which she is one of the founding partners.
