After amassing an impressive array of feature credits as storyboard artist, character designer, and sequence director over the past decade, Chris Butler marks his first feature as director and screenwriter with ParaNorman.
Previously for LAIKA, the U.K. native was storyboard supervisor on the Henry Selick-directed Coraline, serving as head of story and also providing additional character designs. For his story work on the movie, he received an Annie Award nomination; and was recognized by Variety as one of animation's top up-and-coming talents.
Mr. Butler's career encompasses feature and television animation, and has included storyboard and design work on The Tale of Despereaux; Corpse Bride; and numerous projects for the Walt Disney Studios. He has delivered lectures on the subject of storyboarding.
