Gabriel Axel

Gabriel Axel (1918) is an important writer, director and actor. He worked for the Royal Danish Theater, and later worked in television, where he made many films and series. He made his debut with the feature-length drama Always Trouble (Altid ballade, 1955). From his successful filmography we'll mention, e.g., Hagbard and Signe (Den rode kappe, 1967), Love Me, Darling (Med kaerlig hilsen, 1971), Prince of Jutland (1994) and Leila (2001). The drama Babette's Feast (Babettes Gaestebud, 1987) was awarded an Oscar.
