Lorenzo Vigas (1967) was born in Venezuela, where he studied Biology. In 1995 he moved to New York where he attended cinema workshops. On his return to Venezuela, he directed a documentary series for television, entitled Expedición. In 2004 he helmed his first fictional short film, Los elefantes nunca olividan. Desde allá is his first feature, winner of awards in the Films in Progress category of the Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse Festival in 2015 and later the Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival.
