Fritz Lang (1890-1976) was an first an Austrian, but later an American director, screenwriter and producer. The first part of his filmography was made at Ufa studio in Berlin, dealing primarily with silent diptychs Siegfried's Death (Die Nibelungen, 1924), the famous sci-fi Metropolis (1927) and his first talking film M (931). After being forced to emigrate to the USA, he continued making films in Hollywood, e.g. Big Heat (1953) and When the City Sleeps (1956). He… (meer)
