Natalia López Gallardo is a director, screenwriter, editor and occasional actress. She studied cinema in Mexico and has edited films by Lisandro Alonso, Carlos Reygadas and Amat Escalante, among other directors. She has been nominated Best Editor at the Ariel Awards for Luz silenciosa (Silent Light, Carlos Reygadas, 2008) and Heli (Amat Escalante, 2013), which also earned her a Fénix nomination in the same category, as did her work on the editing of Jauja (Lisandro Alonso, 2014). In 2007 the short film En el cielo como en la tierra (In Heaven as it is on Earth) screened in the Semaine de la Critique at the Festival de Cannes. Manto de gemas (Robe of Gems), her first feature film, won the Silver Bear Jury Prize at the last Berlin Festival.
