Biografie

Paul Grimault (1905-1994) was a French screenwriter, director and founder of the modern French school of film animation. He studied drawing, but then shot a number of short films at Les Gémeaux studio, as well as the first French feature color animated film, The Curious Adventures of Mr. Wonderbird (LaBergère et le ramoneur,1953). He later adapted Andersen's story anew at Les Films Paul Grimault studio called The King and the Mockingbird (Le Roi et l'oiseau, 1980), for which he won the prestigious Louis-Delluc award.
