Malgorzata Szumowska

She is one of the most relevant Polish film directors of our times. After two short films, her directorial debut Happy Man (2000) was nominated for the Discovery Award of the European Film Academy, and was awarded in Thessaloniki. It is followed by Strangers (2004), presented at the Sundance and the Berlinale, Elles (2011), In the Name Of (2013), Teddy Award at the Berlinale, the festival she returned to with Body (2015) and Mug (2018), Silver Bear for Best Direction and Jury Grand Prix. Her following two films are The Other Lamb (2019), competing in Toronto, San Sebastián and London, and Never Gonna Snow Again, released in Venice.
