The 100 - The Gospel of Josephine (2019) (aflevering)

Engels Episode five almost felt like your standard grown-up show. Alas, the creators couldn't quite steer clear of their usual inconsistencies and unintentional humor, so I settled on two stars in the end. Still, you've got to appreciate the effort. I had a good chuckle over the desperate attempt to use Josephine as a spy. The disguise was spot-on, but as we all know, being able to attach names to faces doesn't guarantee success in itself. Then there was the hilariously absurd moment of rescuing Terminator; I couldn't help but wonder how much weight pregnant Diyoza can deadlift. Ferrari was so hilarious I had tears in my eyes.

The 100 - The Face Behind the Glass (2019) (aflevering)

Engels The fourth episode was the most action-packed one yet, but I didn't laugh as much. I'm starting to get a bit creeped out by the new characters. Delilah looks like one of those eerie dolls, and Jordan, her male counterpart, complements her perfectly.

The 100 - The Children of Gabriel (2019) (aflevering)

Engels Now it’s crystal clear to me: instead of a reboot, the creators are just recycling their own ideas. We’ve got new Eloi and Morlocks, complete with hilarious costumes that scream low budget. I’m giving it one star for bringing back Terminator O. – this is exactly what I expected from that character.

The 100 - Red Sun Rising (2019) (aflevering)

Engels The plot swung between hilarious and downright silly. I’m giving it a star purely for the unintended humor. Octavia is still as rough as a cow's tongue, and honestly, I’m here for it. It promises plenty of funny moments down the line.

The 100 - Sanctum (2019) (aflevering)

Engels The finale set the stage for a complete reboot, giving the creators a chance to start fresh. No surprise, they stuck to their usual formula. But hey, there were some moments that made me laugh which were clearly intended it to be taken very seriously.. I especially enjoyed the team's trial-and-error approach to testing the atmosphere of the new planet. That was a nice touch.

Glitch (2015) (serie)

Engels After the first season, I was very satisfied and looked forward to the next one. I liked the theme, and although it was not exactly an action series, the story was fast-paced. However, with each new season, the quality of the screenplay decreased, and my satisfaction followed suit. From the beginning of the series, the writers posed a number of questions that I really wanted to know the answers to. It gradually dawned on me that the screenwriter couldn’t care less about answers. Everything was simply attributed to a higher power, be it the laws of the universe, nature or the bearded guy on a cloud. A disappointment.

Glitch - Season 3 (2019) (Seizoen)

Engels The third season only deepened my disappointment after the second season. The creators focused on new subplots made possible by adding new characters. The things I was interested in were pushed to the sidelines, so I finally realized that the writer bit off more than he could chew.

Glitch - Little Gidding (2019) (aflevering)

Engels I expected way more from the grand finale than what the creators delivered. It’s kind of ridiculous to throw mystery after mystery at the audience with no intention of providing any explanation or resolution. I don’t need a happy ending — I actually enjoy tragic ones — but I can't stand a dumb finale. And that’s exactly what I got here.

Glitch - The Enemy (2019) (aflevering)

Engels Although the creators once again skipped over answering the questions we've had since the very first episode, the plot was still more exciting than in the previous ones. The ending, in particular, gave me hope that some of the big issues might finally start getting addressed.

Glitch - Perfectly Safe (2019) (aflevering)

Engels The episode gave me the same vibes as the last one — stuff happens, but by the end, you realize you haven't learned anything important. Plus, the Chinese guy isn't doing it for me; I'm just not a fan of overacting. 3*-
