Did it ever occur to you that you rarely find a carrion when walking through the woods? What happens to animals that die deep in the forest? Who cleans their remains? Where are the piles of animal corpses? Every death in nature means life for millions of other species: it initiates a complex natural cycle that we all depend on. Despite its importance, we still know relatively little about the creatures that move in the carcass and radically change its chemistry or plants recycling the valuable nutrients. Therefore, a team of scientists decided to investigate what occurs when an animal dies. We invite you to a grotesque feast as, after all, death brings new life. (Academia Film Olomouc)
