This may be Canada’s first punk rock love story. Nick had been involved in the black-bloc anarchist movement, inspired in part by a beautiful girlfriend who was committed to the cause. When she abandons him, he feels directionless and depressed and gets a job in a garment sweatshop. There, Nick crosses paths with the quirky Reena and together they make a rather grim discovery, leading to their uncovering the mystery of a missing co-worker. Reena and Nick make for an odd but charismatic couple. He’s all punk swagger and she’s all street smart and sarcastic. Complications ensue when Lizzie, Nick’s ex-girlfriend, shows up wanting to rekindle their affair. (Whistler Film Festival)
