Award-winning Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura continues his evocative exploration of popular song and dance through various traditions in Argentinean music: zamba, baguala, chamamé, chacarera, cueca, malambo, and many more. Shot as a live performance in a warehouse in Buenos Aires, Saura uses minimal but stylish sets to bring the music and accompanying dance to vivid life. Although the premise of this documentary is simple - music and dance unencumbered by narrative or narration - its execution though complex visual choreography and captivating performances is as rich and engaging as anything else in the festival.
