Samenvattingen(1)
With change comes resistance. It was the final years of the Edo period. Samurais-turned-bureaucrats fattened their pockets, while peasants and artisans struggled to survive in a still feudalistic country. With the isolationist foreign policy at an end, western influences began flooding into Japan. Out of the many men who retaliated against such radical change, Yataro (Rentaro Mikuni) was one of the few who would risk everything to right what he believed was wrong. (Nikkatsu)
