Thor (Baldur Einarsson) en Kristjan (Blær Hinriksson) zijn twee onafscheidelijke vrienden in een afgelegen IJslands vissersdorp. Hoe mooi het ruige landschap daar ook is, toch slaat de verveling tijdens de lange zomermaanden vaak toe. Ze vissen een beetje, hangen rond op de autosloop en kijken naar sexy beeldkaartjes, zoals pubers dat met elkaar doen. Thuis hebben ze het geen van beiden leuk, zodat ze veel met elkaar optrekken.
Ook al is Kristjan een kop groter dan Thor en begint al echt op een man te lijken, toch is het Thor die het meest aan meisjes denkt en gek is op Beta (Diljá Valsdóttir). Om geen spelbreker te zijn maakt Kristjan werk van Beta's vriendin Hanna (Katla Njálsdóttir). Maar tijdens een spelletje Truth or Dare wordt het duidelijk dat Kristjans affectieve gevoelens vooral gericht zijn op zijn vriend. Een schokkende gebeurtenis zet hun trouwe vriendschap zwaar onder druk..

Though this drama about the hardships of adolescence and searching for one’s identity amidst harsh conditions and
family troubles is sensitively directed and acted, its screenplay is not very innovative and is thus nothing we haven’t seen
before. However, the film makes good use of visually attractive Icelandic locations. Right between three and four stars.

I’m not saying that the film is a masterpiece that I'm planning on rewatching every other day (fans of the action genre should avoid it entirely), but I enjoyed the plot, atmosphere, and setting throughout. The film is about adolescence and sexual awakening and the young actors were really convincing in it. Although the film also contains the now practically inevitable gay storyline, it felt okay here. It didn’t seem forced onto the plot, so it didn't smack of political correctness. In fact, it made it all enjoyably human.
