The Windmill Massacre

The Windmill Massacre features 90% of the elements that every slasher film should have, which is very rare to see these days. To the layman a slasher means a massacre of stupid students in the woods, those in the know can watch the film and see how it nicely sticks to clearly stated rules. We have an original setting (a windmill) that adds to the atmosphere, a killer associated with a legend and a hefty scythe, a bunch of random people who over time find out they're not there by accident, decent gore and imaginative murders, one unexpected twist and a teaser for a sequel. I think perhaps the only thing missing here was bare titties, but there were no "means" to that end. I found the pacing a little slow, but otherwise this is a very accomplished addition to the genre that could mean to future horror fans in 20 years what Jason or Michael Myers mean to us.
