Regisseur Thomas Lang krijgt de kans het boek te verfilmen over de controversiële rechtszaak van student Jessica Fuller en de moord op haar huisgenoot Elizabeth Pryce. Om de zaak verder te onderzoeken reizen Simone Ford, schrijver van het boek, en Thomas af naar Italië waar de moord heeft plaatsgevonden. Ze komen terecht in een krankzinnig mediacircus, waardoor Thomas ernstig begint te twijfelen aan de motieven van degenen die zich zowel met de film als de rechtszaak bezighouden. Thomas besluit van koers te wijzigen en niet verder mee te gaan in de hype rondom het geweld en de beschuldigingen. Hij zal een film maken ter ere van het slachtoffer om juist haar leven, liefde en vreugde aan de wereld te laten zien. (September Film)
