Alphée des étoiles

Does mental disability disturb us because we find it hard to tolerate slowness? The parents of 5-year-old mentally disabled Alphée ponder on this question. They put their own lives on hold for a year in order to live close to nature by the rhythm of their daughter. The story, filmed by Alphée's father, is like a fairytale with mountain views. Its slow narration momentarily disconnects the viewer from the surrounding world, and gets us thinking about all we can learn from our differences if only we embrace them.
