Terwijl Teresa het geluk in de Keniase seksindustrie hoopte te vinden, zoekt haar zus Anna Maria het paradijs bij Jezus. In haar vakantie zeult deze geloofsfanaticus met Mariabeelden langs de deuren. Als haar echtgenoot, een verlamde moslim, na jaren van afwezigheid uit Egypte terugkeert, ontspint zich een huiselijke oorlog rond het huwelijk en het geloof. Paradies: Glaube is weer een onmiskenbare Seidl, met niet-professionele acteurs, geïmproviseerde dialogen, statische shots en een masturbatiescène met crucifix. (EYE Film)

Visually brilliant (centered aesthetics of richly illustrated religious circular letters a la Seidl), in some ways irreconcilably cynical, but in some ways a little unnecessarily schematic - especially in terms of the character of the protagonist's husband, who in some spots seems a bit declamatory regarding his statements, which is definitely not customary for Seidl. Even some scenes tend to move from observational brilliance and awkwardness to mild apathy. Slightly weaker than the "extreme" Paradies films.
