It surprises me that the Germans particularly revel in violence. Well, actually, this doesn't surprise me at all. What disappoints me more is that while they excel in depicting violence, they don't make an effort to stand out in creating a film with substance, one that has a good concept, something new. The film Nekromantik was able to do it. It would take courage as well as narrative quality.
