Lukas verhuist voor zijn werk naar Köln. Hij trekt in een studentenhuis en begint met zijn beste vriendin Ine de stad te ontdekken. Hij geniet met volle teugen van de lange zomer en dompelt zich onder in het uitgaansleven. Lukas heeft echter een geheim waar alleen Ine van op de hoogte is. I haven't seen many films with transsexual themes, but I have always been very interested in them – e.g. Transamerica or Soldier's Girl. Romeos looks promising at first glance, as it deals with transsexual transition in a recent adult and all that goes with it. Personally, I had a lot of trouble sympathizing with any of the characters, because it felt like they were all over-the-top, in fact, they all acted irrational to the point of being annoying. The short videos of Lukas commenting on his transformation were interesting, but after watching the film, I found myself kind of deprived of any deeper and stronger story.
