This could have been really good. At the very least, it can be said to be original and experimental, which in the current sterile production of Czech Television is somewhat bold. It brims with ideas, but to create a truly good film, these ideas need to be developed and executed well, which unfortunately isn't quite achieved here. The potential is felt at every step, but the characters and ideas are not explored further. The storyline is mundane, lacking quality dialogues and well-executed scenes. If the theater group worked in this manner, it would never have become a cult phenomenon. The picturesque scenery of Telč with its historical backdrop, along with the poetic atmosphere, masks the lack of substance. Overall impression: 40%. (14.02.2010)
