Bobby Walker heeft het prima voor elkaar. Goeie baan, nog beter salaris, mooie vrouw en fijne kinderen. Plus een Porsche in de garage. De economische crisis lijkt ver weg, maar is het niet. Van de één op de andere dag verandert hij in een kansarme werkloze en moet hij iedere kans op een baan met twee handen aanpakken. Al is het timmerwerk van zijn zwager. (Dutch FilmWorks)

After yesterday’s movie about success, this is like falling flat on your face. Office workers who lose their jobs... in a way it’s a very pleasing sight. Ben has to sell his Porsche (sniff), Ben and his wife and kids move in with his parents (arf-arf), gets pissed that he can’t land a job, won’t play golf anymore and won’t maintain his “standard". Poor guy. But it is just this disgusting arrogance and conceit that makes The Company Men a highly watchable and most of the time convincing picture. Tommy Lee Jones in the role of the nice boss seems to be running on neutral, and maybe you won’t be too sorry for Chris Cooper, but all in all it’s very good.
