Shuji loves watching as his parents dote on his over-achieving older brother Shuichi, but it is Shuichi who eventually betrays their trust by getting suspended from university for cheating and drifting into a life of crime. Shuji, meanwhile, becomes interested in a small Christian church on the edge of town. Shuji is fascinated by the story of the church's priest, who took the blame for his own brother's crimes. And the presence of Eri at church, a plucky girl whose parents committed suicide, is also an attraction. When his own parents disappear, Shuji's interest in religion intensifies, along with his feelings for Eri, who has gone to live with relatives in Tokyo. Lonely and desperate, Shuji sets off on a quest to find her. (officiële tekst van distribiteur)
