Sumida is a disabled boy with limited motor functions who requires a speech-generating computer to communicate. One of his carers is his friend Take, a punk musician; but one day a new volunteer appears, Nobuko, a student who is gathering material for her graduation thesis. Sumida takes a shine to her and invites her to one of Take's concerts. But Nobuko and Take are attracted to one another and Sumida feels completely left out.
