Lekár umierajúceho času

A narrative behemoth of a project that has few comparable counterparts in Czechoslovak television production. Many of our historical films have a sterile, stilted feel, but Luther's magnum opus is a different brew. The realities and atmosphere of the 30-year war are skillfully portrayed by TV standards and unlike the film, which was edited from the series seven years later, it does not give an abbreviated impression and goes more into the depth of the fates of individual characters, which adds to its appeal. I just had a hard time with the dubbing of Petr Čepek's charismatic voice. (10.02.2008)
