The lens of a film-projector evokes the past, i.e. the German invasion and the carrying off of Jews. Father works in forced labour service, while Mother managed to hide their two children in two separate villages. Öcsi finds home and shelter at a one-time nun, and incidentally later even Ilcsi finds her way here. For the two children, all this is almost like summer holidays, although Ilcsi spends her days in the attic. A German division is deployed at the rear garden. Öcsi helps Ilcsi to go dancing in secret with Jacob, a German soldier drafted as a student. Ilcsi does not return home. The villagers hide in the air-raid shelter because of the front and the air-raids. Suddenly the Russian soldiers are there, and later even Father arrives. Finding a diary in the attic, they learn that Ilcsi ran away with Jacob. They never hear of her again. In Öcsi's dream, Ilcsi is fifteen years old and lives in the attic. And the lens of the projector has been brought home as a present by Father from the labour camp. (officiële tekst van distribiteur)
