‘A young American, Edison, recorded sound on a tiny wax cylinder.’ Eleven years later, the cylinder was replaced by the vinyl record, and the first gramophone was born. The documentary presents more than just a simple historical overview of the Czech and Czechoslovak record industry. Archive footage is complemented by observations of music journalists on production secrets as well as the social importance of vinyl records. The current process of LP record production is presented with the creative process of the band MYDY. (Academia Film Olomouc)
