Het dorpje Cherry Falls in Virginia is in de ban van een seriemoordenaar. Hij heeft het uitsluitend gemunt op leerlingen die naar school gaan op de Cherry Falls High School, die nog maagd zijn. Sheriff Brent Marken tast volledig in het duister omtrent de identiteit van de man of vrouw. Cherry Falls is simply a product of its time and trend. The only thing that saves the film a bit is Brittany Murphy, who is believable and does what is expected of her. Plus, she looks pretty good as a brunette, but that's because I first saw her as a blonde. The film is otherwise a classic slasher that tries but simply doesn't have what it takes to truly captivate. Well, maybe it's not really trying that hard.
