Judith Auffray studied painting at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon followed by filmmaking at the HEAD-Geneva. Her first feature film, Une maison (2020) showed at festivals including Cinéma du réel, FID Marseille, Ji.hlava and Bosifest and was released in cinemas in November 2021. She enrolled at Le Fresnoy in 2020, where she made two films, 07:15-merle noir (07:15 Blackbird, 2022), screened at Cinéma du réel, Brive and Côté Court, and Les hommes de la nuit (Men of the Night).
