Alvaro Gurrea explores the construction of subjectivity and the conception of otherness with his work. He has directed the documentary short film Crossboundaries, pshown at the Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica, and has been collaborating since 2015 as a curator in the Swab Barcelona contemporary art fair. Holding a Degree in Economy from Barcelona University, in 2019 he completed his Master in Creative Documentary at the Pompeu Fabra University. Since 2016 he has lived partially in Indonesia, where he developed Mbah Jhiwo, his first feature film, together with a rural community from east Java.
