Biografie

Director and screenwriter. Her first short film París, puertas abiertas (2014) was the winner of the Making Film section of the 12th Young Show (ICAIC), Special Mention of Fiction in the 14th Young Show (ICAIC) and Grand Prize of the Festival Nacional Por Primera Vez (2015). It was also selected at the Femele Eye Film Festival in Canada, Aesthetica Magazine Film Festival in England, Latino and Iberian Film Festival at Yale (LIFFY) in the United States and was part of a sample of contemporary Cuban cinema exhibited at the Art Museum Modern from São Paulo. His second short film project Un Instante (2016) was the winner of the Making Film section of the 14th Young Show (ICAIC). In addition, it won the Go-Cuba fund of the World Cinema Amsterdam Festival and the Norwegian Fund for Cuban Cinema. At the 16th Young Show (ICAIC) she won the award for best fiction, as well as the awards for best directing, best screenplay, best soundtrack design, best art direction and best female performance. She also obtained the recognition of the jury in the categories of photography, editing and production. This short film participated as an official selection in festivals such as San Giò Verona Video Festival, Latino and Iberian Film Festival at Yale (LIFFY), Festival of New Latin American Cinema, World Cinema Amsterdam, Kaleidoskop-Filmforum. Her another short film, Atardecer en el trópico (Sunset in the tropics) (2019) was winner of the Norwegian Fund for Cuban Cinema and of the Go-Cuba 2018 fund of the World Cinema Amsterdam Festival and official selection of the 41st Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
