Belén Santos graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University. For a decade she worked as a producer at the Efe Televisión Agency, before beginning her career as a scriptwriter and independent filmmaker. She has developed audiovisual projects and documentaries for non-governmental organisations and various other bodies, as well as producing her own work. At Seminci she premiered Disconcerting Symphony (2002) and Otras miradas, otras voces (2019), respectively in Seminci sidebars The Night of Spanish Short Films and Climate Change .In addition, her films have been selected in other competitions such as the Festival des Films du Monde in Montreal or DocumentaMadrid, and she has received awards in America, Europe and Asia. Her filmography includes other titles like Women (2008), True Gods Have Bones (2011), Níger. La lucha por la vida (2016) and Butine Badiaké, un buen camino (2018).
