Biografie

Veit Helmer (1968) is a German screenwriter and director. He made his start in TV, then studied theater directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and directing from the University of Television and Film Munich. Best known for his short films, his feature debut Tuvalu (1999) won dozens of awards. In addition to several documentaries, he's made the comedies Gate to Heaven (Tor zum himmel, 2003), Absurdistan (2008), and Bajkonur (2011).
