Rigo Mora founded together with Guillermo del Toro, Necropia company in 1985, the first production company in Jalisco devoted to the creation of special effects. He was one of the first to promote stop motion technology in Mexico and was teacher of many generations of filmmakers. He also directed and produced animated short films, La vida está en el agua, La gran obra, Como prepara un sándwich, ¿Gustas?, and Encrucijada. He acted as a consultant on productions that have won international awards such as Sin sosten, El octavo dia, and Hasta los huesos. He left use with a rich legacy in his work as a filmmaker, consultant and teacher. In 2010, FICG created the “Rigo Mora Award” for the best animated Mexican short film in competition.
