"How can nothing be something?" Zero is a gloomy social satire in which numbers represent the position of individuals in society, which could be transferred to anything in (not only) today's times - be it gender, race or sexual orientation. Except for the somewhat bizarre ending, Zero offers a powerful story from life, and besides that, it also impresses with its visuals.

A creature that seems to have fallen out of the stop motion films of Jan Švankmajer and Tim Burton creates another creature in its own image to the accompaniment of expressive and striking music, and one kind of suspects where it is going. But then the final twist comes and you just stare with your mouth wide open.

The Kinematograph is a visually captivating one-off with a strong story and a captivating soundtrack. The clash of personal and professional life is a fairly bland theme, but here it is set in the novel period of cinema's emergence, so there is a certain amount of "newness".

A visually interesting tale of the clash between the living and the dead with an unmistakable musical score and a rather generic story. Long live second chances!

Geist offers a decent plot and twist wrapped up in ten minutes of superbly built tension and oppressive atmosphere. The animation is also very good.

Everything has a beginning and an end, and so it is with relationships. But it is important to keep moving forward and not get bogged down in the past. Sonder is the bittersweet story of one such relationship, which is interwoven with many metaphors. Plus points for the nice music and interesting animation. As Kate Winslet once said, "Loving someone is setting them free, letting them go."

Planning is one thing, implementation is another. This is what the (unconventional) couple of a dog and a cat, who could be behind any couple going through a relationship crisis, will find out. A bittersweet real-life story about the importance of having dreams and plans, even though the path to them may seem tortuous.

Le Gouffre is a story of strong friendship and incredible determination that could have bridged the deepest chasm. I liked the unusual animation and the gradual build-up of the plot.

A cute and simply presented story with decent animation that offers one screenwriting surprise at the end, though it does lack emotion.
