The Young, the Evil and the Savage can't be accused of not selecting beautiful girls, whom the camera captures quite sensually. The camera work is generally a big positive of the film. But the story falls a bit short and lacks a bigger punch – especially in execution, which at times felt very lackluster to me. I.e.: "We want to scare people, but not too much." I'm quite glad that later on, the giallo genre evolved into something more explicit.
