Recensie (1)
A gimpy old man kills young girls and harvests their organs in order to prepare a great feast with which he will satisfy his Greek goddess. Seductive trash with a cartoonishly simple plot, the worst possible acting performances, a lot of ketchup and a seriously intended philosophical conclusion. Actually, it’s a crime flick without a single plot twist, a horror movie without a single scary scene, and a fetishistic gorefest without a hint of disgust. But despite this clumsiness that is reminiscent of the filmmaking dregs of Ed Wood’s movies, it’s even more entertaining and charming than those. Some scenes are literally a parody of acting and the ending elevates all preceding sour impressions of the film to such a special experience that you simply won’t forget it, regardless of how dumb and impossible it is. Blood Feast is a gem for an audience interested in such things. And for cinema, in a certain way – after all, this is where it all began with freshly harvested brains, intestines, eyes, tongues, etc. The two-star rating is solely for satisfying my eternal hunger for weird movies.
