De verwende tv-ster Mary-Alice raakt na een ongeluk tot aan haar middel verlamd. Verbitterd trekt ze zich terug in het verlaten familiehuis in Louisiana. Haar boosaardig gedrag drijft alle verpleegsters de deur uit tot de koppige zwarte Chantelle komt opdagen. While watching this movie, I felt as if I was watching life as it was. And that’s despite the fact I have never been to the American rural areas. In fact, I’ve never been to America as such. Nevertheless, a strong asset of this film is the humanity, honesty and genuineness of all the characters that play an important role in the movie. Also, while watching this film, I felt as if I was watching the French movie Untouchables. You can definitely see where the authors of the French movie got their inspiration from.
