Engels It's quite funny that people want to multiply terribly, have 20 children and increase the population of the Earth by leaps and bounds, but when it comes to feeding them, which is classically in line with the evolutionary chain, everyone feels terribly offended. On the one hand, I appreciate the hidden cameras and chilling footage of animal abuse in slaughterhouses, because I had no idea about some of the practices, and these (sometimes extremely violent) killing machines deserve to die. On the other hand, I have to point out that the 140 minutes of running time is literally exhausting, and the depiction of every single animal species, its life and breeding is unnecessarily specific and detailed, and some general summation would have been enough, keeping the above-mentioned footage for the audience to see - this way we would have been told what assholes some people are and the documentary would have left some kind of mark on us. But the constant reiteration of the same facts ( for example, that animals are heavy and their legs break under their weight - I heard that about 6 times in the documentary...), the wannabe philosophical ideas about how animals are sensitive creatures and in the last 20 minutes the promotion of vegan athletes and their bullshit about how they are stronger, don't put a strain on their metabolism and that eating meat is bad, that's extremist and embarrassing to me. If the film had stuck to the idea of exposing people to the reality of what goes on in slaughterhouses every day, I would have cheered, but this useless vegan-friendly propaganda and nonsense degrades the whole documentary two levels down...
