The second part of Pasolini's trilogy is based on the 14th century stories of Geoffrey Chaucer. Plunging with gusto into some of the blackest and bawdiest of the tales, Pasolini celebrates almost every conceivable form of sexual act with a rich earthy humour. (officiële tekst van distribiteur)
Recensie (2)
Pasolini’s soulless, sexist exhibitionism, which instead of a feature film rather reminded me of a long amateur music video with no rhyme or reason. ()
Pier Paolo Pasolini chose an interesting stylization for the film, where at times you feel like it could be some kind of loose Shakespearean comedy, even though the film definitely lacks the literary qualities for that. It's a bit daring, controversial perhaps not so much, but in terms of plot, I found it extremely boring, and I didn't enjoy watching the film. ()
