Pity vertelt het verhaal van Giannis, een man die liever ongelukkig is. Een man verknocht aan smart. Als de vrouw van deze advocaat na lange tijd uit een coma ontwaakt, moet hij het plotseling stellen zonder het mededogen dat lange tijd zo gul voorhanden was. Unbelievably gloomy, at times I thought that the main character couldn’t possibly be serious with all that depression. He’s drowning in total bullshit and he’s making sure everybody can see that so that nobody would think that he isn’t grieving for his sick wife at all. He gets so brutally lost in his sadness that when his wife eventually gets better, he “happily” goes on with his depression. It’s definitely filmed in an interesting way, but it proves that Greek cinematography is simply the weirdest European cinematography of them all.
