De jonge surfer Mike Goldwing gaat samen met zijn opa, zijn beste vriendin en een grappige hagedis op een spannend avontuur naar de maan. Een miljonair die beweert dat er nog nooit een mens op de maan is geweest, gaat op ruimtereis om een duivels plan uit te voeren. Hij wil een zeer krachtige en gevaarlijke nieuwe vorm van energie (Helium 3) bemachtigen waarmee hij de machtigste man van de wereld zal worden. Wat hij niet weet is dat Mike, zijn opa en vriendin in een ander ruimteschip op weg zijn naar de maan om hem tegen te houden. Geïnspireerd op de ruimtewedloop van de jaren zestig. Plot-wise, it's a pretty ordinary film, but after a long time, I see that there is a European studio that has the potential to create good animation. Yes, Paramount at the beginning is a bit surprising, but I'll consider it just as a distributor, as it's also presented on the internet. It has awesome animation, which is surprising for Europe, but it needed an interesting and entertaining script.

So it is definitely obvious that the people from Paramount put money into this particular animated movie, and I would not be surprised if the US government poured money into it too, because I do not think anyone would produce such a celebration of the American space program for free. Otherwise, this is an average, maybe slightly above-average movie in all respects, with pretty decent animation, a good soundtrack, an average narrative, and a classic message about the importance of family. It might be quite enjoyable for kids because it is set in space, there is a likable iguana and some relatively interesting characters. However, I found it to be only a bit better than average. 5.5/10.
