Bloodlands

Skender is the kind of father you do not want to upset. Yet, his two children have dreams more ambitious than running the family butcher shop. A mundane altercation with street kids turns into a nightmare when the scoundrels return to their particluarly spiteful clan hidden in the mountains. When members of the clan return to teach Skender and his family a lesson, the butcher does not hesitate to respond in kind. If there is one tradition Albania upholds even as it modernizes, it's blood vengeance. (Nashville Film Festival)
