Shot in the Dark

"I only understood how powerful light is after I went blind," says photographer Sonia. The photos made by the 3 visually challenged artists presented in the film are extraordinary. Tangible, living images, which may not always have clear contours but take on the magical atmosphere of the world of which they provide a glimpse – the fascinating space in the minds of the sightless. The game of chance blended with imagination that plays out in their heads creates an impressive bridge towards the sighted. At the same time, this intimate portrait attacks traditional notions about the creative process and significantly enhances the concept of perception and imagination. (One World)
