Rabbit Proof Fence is a slow and not very imaginative film in terms of directing – only the lively camerawork makes it visually distinctive – but it is very pleasant in terms of its subject and surprising in the context of Phillip Noyce’s filmography. Even though it may be political propaganda, it is also a story about the importance of family ties and the presence of a supportive domestic environment. And with an excellent performance by the young lead actress. ()
A little big drama that has Australia to thank for most of it positives (the heroine, history, location) and negatives (Noyce’s academic directing). 75% ()
