Esperando B.

Beyoncé has devoted fans all over the world. But none like those in São Paulo. It's two months to the concert and it's time to begin camping at the arena to get good seats. The fans stream in, camping clans arise and a line system is organized. They cry, laugh, hug, fight, party and dance. Waiting for B follows some of the most enthusiastic fans outside the arena, but also at home and at work. The result is a simple, delicate and up-close documentary about a group for whom Beyoncé is more than just music. Many of them are homosexual and for them twerking is a protest against a boring, intolerant society. B is a place of refuge from discrimination and persecution as well as a chance to get a moment in the spotlight. Preferably in drag. (Göteborg Film Festival)
