In de nieuwe 3D-animatiefilm reis je mee met onze favoriete monsterfamilie. Ze vieren vakantie aan boord van een luxe cruiseschip voor monsters. Drac kan eindelijk eens bijkomen van het drukke werk in zijn hotel. De familie Drac doet mee aan alle leuke activiteiten aan boord en natuurlijk liggen ze ook volop in het maanlicht te luieren om een lekker bleek kleurtje te krijgen. De droomvakantie mondt echter uit in een nachtmerrie als Mavis merkt dat Drac gevallen is voor de charmes van de mysterieuze cruisekapitein Ericka. Zij bewaart een geheim dat het einde kan betekenen voor alle monsters. (Universal Pictures International Netherlands)

The spooky gang goes on holiday and Dracula falls in love. Unfortunately, with a captain who comes from the family of his greatest enemies... Hotel Transylvania 3 doesn't come with anything new, but if you're a fan of the previous two, you won't be bored. After all, it's just as likeable, cutely styled and full of fun characters, and with such a cadence of jokes that it doesn't matter if half of them don't really work. A fine animated slapstick.

By the third film, the original theme was pretty much exhausted. The Hotel Transylvania films have become a series of Halloween pranks and gags. The shorts and the TV series maintain a much more interesting level.

Although the previous episodes couldn’t be called peak entertainment, they were fun (though often quite childish), but the third one is a dud with a dozen characters running around screaming and saying something here and there. The story had a promising idea, but it feels lousy, just like the secondary characters, who are clearly out of funny ammo. At least, in a grotesque and original way, it wants to deliver an important message and presents evidence that modern music is evil both for the ears and the soul.
