I always don't quite like slow tempo, but with this film, it's somehow connected to the fact that the story is told in a personal yet distant way. The camera is close, sometimes it feels like it's zooming in on the actors, but you still have some distance from them. And that worked for me. Tim Roth is then incredibly believable in his role.
