De studente Mia besluit een documentaire te maken over een oudere vrouw met Alzheimer. Ze hangt camera’s op in en rond het huis van de dementerende Deborah Logan om het verloop van de ziekte te volgen. Het onzalige plan loopt echter compleet uit de hand. Op de beelden die ze terugkijkt ziet Mia al snel veel meer dan een ’s nachts ronddolende, slaapwandelende vrouw. Ook dochter Sarah, die mevrouw Logan verzorgt, ziet haar moeder veranderen in iets wat ze nooit was. Voor beiden wordt steeds gruwelijker zichtbaar dat de geest van Deborah niet verdwijnt, maar wordt overgenomen door iets anders... (Amstelfilm)

Unfortunately, just your average found-footage, but worth watching just for that scene with the human-snake head. Ew!

In comparison to the Czech found-footage movie Ghoul, this one is far weaker. It’s nice that the camera isn’t shaking like a leaf on a windy day, but as far as the story goes, there was nothing engaging or remotely scary. I must admit that it’s better than the entire Paranormal Activity film series, but it’s still lacking in atmosphere. Anyway, I must say that the ending was absolutely shocking. It made it worth it to sit through the hour of run-of-the-mill boredom. I wonder how the creators thought of that and what was their inspiration. There was nothing scary about the movie and suddenly, there was a second of footage that can haunt my dreams even a week later.

The movie has an overall interesting progression and is not entirely predictable, there are moments that are unexpected. However, I still have a feeling that I've seen it before. Yes, there are scary scenes, especially one really disgusting one that a person will remember, but I can't jump for joy because of it. Well, considering it's a found footage film, at least it reaches the average level of "The Taking of Deborah Logan".
