Oilfields Mines Hurricanes is a road-movie in which the classical theme of the quest for Identity turns into a paradox: Salpa is a disorientated seeker who travels with a primitive fish, on a journey with no final destination or redemption, for he always finds himself estranged in the middle of nowhere. The disintegration of Salpa's multiple identity, a vivid metaphor for the modern loss of meaning, reflects the collective production of the film, written by eighteen different screenwriters. Based on John Cage's centuries-long organ piece As SLow aS Possible. (Fresh Film Fest)
